Region Opacity information not exporting.
Region Opacity information not exporting.
This is very odd, I have been able to use Region Opacity in other animations without a problem, but for some reason with this particular animation the Opacity will not work. I looked at the animation through the Advanced Export option, and when I put on Wireframe it shows all the other movement animations working. Basically there are 2 layers of opacity. A top layer with a closed trunk, a middle layer with a partially open trunk lid animating, and third layer with the trunk open that the top two layers should fade into. It works just fine in editor, but not when it exports or during the export preview. What can I do to fix this issue?
Re: Region Opacity information not exporting.
Hello,
Do you mind sending me an email (the contact is on the main webpage on the upper right) with say a dropbox link ( since projects can get large ) and I will take a look for you?
Cheers

Re: Region Opacity information not exporting.
Hello,
Actually I am doing more testing. I think the Advanced preview doesn't show the opacity changes.
However the opacity change data should still be exported out into the game engine.
What engine are you planning to run it in?
Cheers

Re: Region Opacity information not exporting.
We are using Phaser for our game engine. Like I said, I've used opacity before and it has worked in a different animation, even in the advanced preview. Let me know if you want the files still.
Re: Region Opacity information not exporting.
Can you stay online for the next 30 mins? I think I might have a fix for you...
Re: Region Opacity information not exporting.
A new update has been pushed out, can you try out the advanced export again please.
Btw the Phaser runtimes need to be updated for opacity changes. I am doing that now. Stay tuned.

Re: Region Opacity information not exporting.
Hello,
So I tried updating the WebGL runtimes and Phaser for you but here is the current situation.
Creature WebGL Core Library: I have already added in the ability to do opacity/alpha animation for the core Creature Runtime
Creature Phaser Frontend: Unfortunately as of right now, it seems like Phaser does not support changing of vertex colours/opacity in their WebGL shader:
https://github.com/photonstorm/phaser/b ... pShader.js
Notice that the line:
is commented out. Varying vertex colours are required in order to animate the opacity of your mesh regions over time.
Core support of animated region alphas is already in; however the Phaser Library itself doesn't seem to be able to support this functionality of Creature at the current moment. If you could put in a request to the Phaser devs to add in vertex colour changes in their StripShader, I can help put this feature into the Creature runtimes for Phaser very quickly.
Cheers

Re: Region Opacity information not exporting.
I will pass all this on to the programmers I'm working with! Thank you so much for your help. Oh, also the advanced exporter preview is working now for me. Thanks for that too.
Re: Region Opacity information not exporting.
No problem,
For the programmers you are working with, you have another option as well. If you are using your own Phaser code base, you can probably very easily modify the stripshader to be aware of vertex colours.
Once that is done, just send me an email if you need assistance in activating the opacity animation in your modified Phaser code base. I should be able to help you make it work quite quickly since I have already put in the core functionality into the runtimes yesterday.
Cheers

I`m sorry for disturb, but we have the same problem. Can you tell us how you decided it ?alejkhan wrote:I will pass all this on to the programmers I'm working with! Thank you so much for your help. Oh, also the advanced exporter preview is working now for me. Thanks for that too.
