Atlas & Animations

Post by DIEEGOQWERTY » Thu Jun 07, 2018 6:28 pm

Hello; I hope you can answer my question. In a single Atlas I have 24 objects that I want to animate. How do I do it to animate each of them in a similar way and in the same Atlas without having to mess up the Atlas?
More to the point, we're trying to animate foliage, and the atlas has a lot of plants, trees, bushes, etc.
Do we have to create a project for each "bush" or plant? and then import that?
How do you approach something like this?
Thanks!

Hello,

Just create each project with the same texture atlas png. In Rig Mode, only add the mesh region you want pertaining to the character/plant you care about. Lots of studios already employ this approach.

Thanks

What I do is "export project as" under file- to make duplicates basically. I name it to whatever plant I am going to work on next, then OPEN that new one so I don't mess up my current. I even use the same bones\skin names often, just re-assigning weights. Lots of little tricks to help the automation of it all. I find it's often easier to reuse then to start from scratch over and over.
