repeated crashes, huge slowdown (RESOLVED: reduce mesh complexity )

Post by DrWeirdfinger » Wed Jan 18, 2017 8:04 pm

In the last 48 hours, every time I click to drag in any mode, there is a 3 second delay that staggers the bones or whatever I'm controlling, and then I have to close the program, without saving when it decides to not respond.

Hello,

Sorry to hear about your issues.
There are previous versions you can try downloading here:
http://www.kestrelmoon.com/creature/pre ... sions.html

In the meantime, can you let me know what sort of project you have that is causing the slowdown? How many bones etc. are constructed for the character and what does the scene look like?

If you want, you can upload the project to a service like Dropbox, send me a private msg via the forum and I can investigate.

Thanks

I performed boundary remesh and it looks like I had too many triangles. Thank you.

Hello,

No problem. I will look into optimizing the meshing routines for huge numbers of triangles in the future, but this is a much more challenging issue.

Cheers

To be fair, I didn't mean to have so many triangles. So, my bad. Thank you though
