Invalid IHDR data and cannot export to PNG

Post by Heartigan » Wed Jun 14, 2017 5:04 pm

Hi,

I was working with creature when I went to export it to images (I need separate PNGs and always have been using the same images export method without problem until now) when suddenly a "Couldn't save PNG error" came out saying "invalid image width in IHDR", "Image width exceeds user limit in IHDR". Creature crashes and its CPU usage stays at 30% after this. How can I fix this? Original PSD size is 611x792, around 1.3mb, meshing texture used is 2048.

Hello,

This sounds like the exported PNG image file resolutions are too large? It might have exceeded the PNG file size specification ( from what I gathered online ). What happens if you reduce the export file resolutions? Also the turn off SuperSample option when you try that.

If I export with 256 as size (ssampling off) = same error (as before I have to kill the program from task manager)
If I export with 128 = program crashes altogether

I will try other settings and update you.

Ok so apparently was the Autosize to animation that made it crash. Turning it off makes the export work.
It worked for all my other animations tho.

Hello,

That is very strange. I will need some time to investigate. In the meantime, you will have to export without the autosizing.
You can also export via the PostProcess Export window which allows you to manually specify an area to crop for export.

Thanks. I have tried the Post Process export crop thing, nice stuff.
